Judges and lawyers from across North Macedonia have recently come together in a series of capacity-building workshops aimed at enhancing their understanding of freedom of expression and tackling Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs). Organized with the support of the Council of Europe, these initiatives seek to equip legal professionals with the tools and knowledge to better protect fundamental rights and uphold democratic principles in the face of increasing legal challenges targeting journalists, activists, and civil society actors.
